Expand/Collapse Toggles

In this tab you can specify the costs as marginal and full costs and assign them to cost elements.

PATH: see "Edit resources".

The cost elements are designated in Configuration Wizard > Master Data > Resources > Time types .

For general information on resource costs and some examples, see Resource costs.

All costs are specified in minutes or in hours. This is configured in the Configuration Wizard.

Field Description

Field

Description

Time types

The time types with their cost rates are displayed. Click the yellow arrow to set up the time types.

Setup time pre-calculation (Setup time type)

Only visible if  the "Expand to cost element" is greater than 1. You can specify a separate cost rate for the setup process. The setup process can be reported separately in the FDC.

Input marginal and full costs. A Cost element can also be stored and it can be inserted into the work sequence by selecting it in the operation.

See Time types

Processing (cost rate)

This field is always visible. This is the main cost rate and can represent either a mixed calculation of all costs ("Extension to cost element" = 1), machinery costs only ("Evaluate personnel costs separately" active) or the main processing time ("Extension to cost element" > 1).

Input at marginal and full costs. A Cost element can also be stored and it can be inserted into the work sequence by selecting it in the operation.

Please consider general information on Resource costs.

Rework

Quality control

In these fields additional cost rates such as rework, quality control, pure machinery costs, and so on, can be set up as a separate cost rate as required. These can also be reported separately in the FDC without having to insert another resource or operation.

Only visible if  the "Expand to cost element" is set to 3 or 4.

Input the marginal and full costs. A Cost element can also be stored and it can be inserted into the work sequence by selecting it in the operation.

Labor cost rate

The Labor cost rate can be set in these fields. Only visible if "Value labor costs separately" is active.

Input marginal or full costs. A Cost element can also be stored and it can be inserted into the work sequence by selecting it in the operation.

Cost Status

Date of the cost definition.

Cost Center

Specification of a cost center for further analysis (not the same as the cost element).

Expand cost elements

The number of cost rates available. The default is one cost element (processing time), which can represent a mixed calculation of machinery and personnel costs.

Up to 4 cost rates can be defined, if for example a separate report should be made for machinery, personnel, or other cost originators via FDC.

If setup time is to be valued separately, select "2" cost elements. Then for setup and for processing time rates of marginal and full costs and a Cost element are available. At order time receipt you select if the registered time is setup or processing time.

Two additional time types can be set up to perform separate cost calculation and time registration.

Value labor costs separately

If this option is activated, a separate cost rate can be stored for personnel costs.

Special feature: If a cost rate is stored in the personnel master, the costing calculation is performed using the personnel cost rate of the employee who reported the time.

For this type of cost recording, separate personnel clocking in/out is not necessary, although this means that this type of cost recording can only be used if the person operates only one machine at a time.

Example: Personnel costs with 2 cost elements ("Extend to cost elements" = 2):

1. Setup cost element  €0

2. Processing cost element  €2 / minute ( = machinery costs)

3. Personnel costs €1.5 / minute

When logging in to FDC, the employee can now decide whether he reports the "setup" or the "processing". In the first case, a calculation of €1.5/minute ( = 0 + €1.5 ) is performed, and for a processing report €3.5 ( = €2 + €1.5).

Only one time report is generated in which all direct costs are included.

As a separate cost element can be stored for personnel costs, separate analysis of the planned or accumulated personnel costs are possible in the pre-calculation and cost analysis.

If the person operates several machines and clocks his own costs, this can be performed using an extended cost element.

Cost Elements Update

The selected resource costs elements can be updated in all routings containing this resource as a routing position.

In the prompt the following options are available:

All: all cost elements are replaced.

Only empty: only empty cost elements are updated.
